At FAMILY3: Social Work & Family Consultancy, we believe every child and family deserves to feel happy, healthy, safe, and loved.

Founded by Deirdre McCarthy, a CORU-registered Social Worker, author, and lecturer, our practice is rooted in over a decade of frontline experience and a deep commitment to children’s rights. We work with families, professionals, and organisations to create trauma-informed systems of care that put the voice of the child at the centre.

Our signature framework, The Bród Method™, is a child-centred, trauma-informed, and family-focused approach that supports children navigating change, challenge, and crisis – from parental separation and blended families, to bereavement and beyond. Through therapeutic tools such as storybooks, workbooks, card decks, and comfort kits, the Bród Method™ offers practical ways for children and adults to connect, heal, and grow together.

Alongside direct support for families, we deliver training, consultancy, and wellbeing programmes for professionals across social care, education, health, and community services. From trauma-informed practice and vicarious trauma awareness, to child-inclusive mediation and staff wellbeing, we equip practitioners and organisations to work with confidence, compassion, and resilience.
