Family3 delivers training to social workers, healthcare staff, educators, therapists, community organisations, and helping professionals across a range of settings.
A Trauma-Informed Approach to Training
All training delivered through Family3 is grounded in trauma-informed principles. This means recognising the impact of stress, adversity, and complex experiences on both the people we support and the professionals providing care.
Training focuses on:
-
Understanding trauma and stress responses
-
Supporting emotional regulation
-
Building safe and trusting relationships
-
Working in a child-centred way
-
Reflective and relational practice
-
Preventing burnout and secondary trauma
-
Supporting sustainable professional practice
Training sessions combine theory, practical tools, discussion, and reflective exercises to support real-world application.
The Bród Method™ Framework
Training delivered through Family3 is informed by The Bród Method™, a trauma-informed framework developed by Deirdre McCarthy to support children, families, and professionals navigating change.
The model is based on four core needs:
Happy – Healthy – Safe – Loved
These principles provide a clear and practical structure for working with children and families, and for supporting professionals to make decisions that keep the child’s experience at the centre.
The Bród Method™ integrates knowledge from trauma-informed care, attachment theory, regulation theory, child participation, and relational practice.
